The Blackshirt swimmers and divers were busy today changing the record books for the school and conference in a meet that featured many of the fastest swimmers in the state.
Senior John Acevedo kicked off the meet with a new Conference Meet record in the 200 Freestyle. John also set a new meet record in the 500 Freestyle, and swam on the 200 Free Relay which broke the Conference Meet record and the school record. That relay of Jacob Carlson, Conrad Farrell, Blake Baertlein and Acevedo is currently the fastest in the state.
Sophomore Caleb Blischke won the 200 IM and finished second to Acevedo in the 500 Freestyle. Caleb was joined by John Acevedo, Conrad Farrell and Nolan Scanlan on the 400 Free Relay which was under the previous meet record, but was out-touched by Arrowhead.
Sophomore Jacob Carlson broke school records in the 50 Free and 100 Backstroke, finishing second in both races. Jacob’s 100 Backstroke was under the previous Conference Meet record, but finished second to Arrowhead’s Nixdorf.
Senior Conrad Farrell also had impressive individual performances with a 3rd place finish in the 200 Freestyle and 4th place in the 100 Freestyle.
Several other Blackshirts finished in the top 8 and contributed to the teams success today: Nolan Scanlan, Blake Baertlein, Sam Lanham, Isaac Schroeder, and Tayler Rajnicek.
