Multiple Teams · South Well Represented at Journal Sentinel Sports Awards

On Tuesday, May 7, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sports Awards honored extraordinary student athletes from our area.  Waukesha South High School was well represented with award nominees from Football, Cheer, Swim & Dive and Boys Hockey. Congratulations to Abby Carlson (Swim), Jacob Carlson (Swim), Caleb Blischke (Swim), Spencer Vigo (Football and Cheer), Chad Larsen (Hockey) and Garrett Larsen (Hockey) for being nominated for this prestigious award!

We are so proud of all of you!

Congratulations to Senior Spencer Vigo for winning the Courage Award.  Vigo dealt with some major health issues in his family over the last two years, and has had to step up to help in ways that most students cannot even fathom. Meanwhile, he excelled on both the Football field &  Cheer and maintained a positive attitude.

Congratulations also go out to Senior Garrett Larsen, for winning the Boys Hockey Player of the Year Award for the 2nd year in a row. Under Larsen’s leadership and stellar goalie skills, the Waukesha Wings made it to the state tournament four years in a row. At this year’s state tournament, Larsen set the record for saves in one game.
