Girls Varsity Tennis · SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Allison Gardner

Get to know

Allison Gardner, ’20

Class of 2020

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYING THIS SPORT?:  I’ve been playing tennis for 4 years.

WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE MEMORIES FROM YOUR HS TEAM?:  My favorite memory from these past four years is our teams annual trip to Green Bay. We play in a tournament called “Battle of the Bays.” It’s a two day tournament where we get to compete with teams all over the Green Bay area. It’s always a great opportunity to bond with the team.

WHO INSPIRES YOU?: My sister, parents, coaches and teammates inspire me to never give up and try my hardest hardest no matter what.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE TO YOUNGER STUDENTS?: If you have any interest in playing a sport (even if you have no experience), you should definitely try it out. All teams and coaches at South are welcoming, friendly and love having any and all new students come out to play. It is a great way to get involved and meet new people.

WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO THANK?: I would like to thank my family for always supporting me and coming to my matches to cheer me on. I would also like to thank my coaches for everything they do for our team and for helping me become a better player and a better person.

FUTURE HOPES:  My hope is to pursue a degree in nursing at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
