Get to know

Elena Cabigas, ’21

Class of 2021

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYING THIS SPORT?: This is my 1st year, but I have been a competitive dancer for almost 10 years

WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE MEMORIES FROM YOUR HS TEAM?:  My favorite memories would be performing and cheering at football games. One specific moment that comes to mind was this year at the last football game and it was freezing cold and hailing. Although it wasn’t very enjoyable at the time I will definitely never forget it.

WHO INSPIRES YOU?: My teammates and my cheer coaches inspire me and I know I can always count on them to cheer me on and push myself to my fullest potential. My sophomore year dance coaches Coach Amy and Coach Rosalie were also a huge inspiration both in and out of dance.

DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE TO YOUNGER STUDENTS?: I would say my biggest piece of advice is to just appreciate all of the little moments because high school really does go by so quickly. I also think that its important to realize that its not always all about winning because at the end of the day your doing what you love with your best friends.

WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO THANK?: I would like to thank my mom and dad for always believing in me and pushing me to do my best. They also never miss a performance, whether that be watching me at games or cheering me on at competitions.

FUTURE HOPES:  After high school I plan on attending Saint Louis University or University of Minnesota and major in either Investigative Medical Sciences or Biomedical Engineering.

SOMETHING PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ABOUT ME:  I am in the engineering academy.
